Hi!
I tried to install Sputnik using the installer "sputnik_install_2008_06_22.sh"
but I could not complete the installation.
It seems the error is the wrong specification of the WSapi's rock (I pasted the error message at the end
of the message). The error message says:
"Error: Failed installing dependency: http://luarocks.luaforge.net/rocks/wsapi-1.0-2.all.rock"
Looking the rock's repository, I could not see this rock there. There are only:
wsapi-1.0-1.src.rock
wsapi-1.0-2.rockspec
wsapi-1.0-2.src.rock
wsapi-1.0-2.win32-x86.rock

Looks like the luaforge repository is misconfigured. http://luarocks.luaforge.net/rocks/manifest says: wsapi={['1.0-1']={{arch='src'} } , ['1.0-2']={{arch='all'} , {arch='rockspec'} , {arch='src'} , {arch='win32-x86'} } } but wsapi-1.0-all.rock is not in the repository. This could be as simple as removing the entry from manifest, I imagine. Oh, and it looks like the manifest file was updated the other day... - yuri -- http://sputnik.freewisdom.org/

> ...or add the missing rock, which I just did. :) Thanks for the heads-up.
And Sputnik installation seems to work now, at least on Linux.
BTW, note that at this point the installer script is a bit outdated
compared to what you see on the sputnik site itself. The new fancy
stuff like lua validation, etc. is only available in git. But we'll
try to make another release shortly.
